TOBA TEK SINGH: A drug addict was burnt alive in Nallaywala locality of Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad, on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Tahir Shafi, 45, who was asleep in an empty shop where he had lit old clothes and tree branches to keep warm. The fire spread to his clothes, resulting in his tragic death.

Meanwhile, in Chak 36/10R, located in the Katcha Khu area of Khanewal, unidentified people set a house on fire, seriously burning two women.

Rescue 1122 shifted Sakina Bibi, 52, and her daughter-in-law Ramzana Bibi, 30, to Khanewal DHQ Hospital.

PATWARI HELD: A revenue patwari was arrested red-handed on Tuesday while accepting Rs50,000 bribe in Shorkot by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).

Ghulam Shabbir of Nawan Shehr locality had filed a complaint with the ACE director alleging that patwari Asim Azeem demanded a bribe to transfer his inherited property.

A raid was conducted by ACE Circle Officer Muhammad Akhtar Saeed under the supervision of Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Toseef, and marked currency notes were recovered from the patwari.

RAPE: A man allegedly raped a girl in Chak 348 JB at Gojra on Tuesday.

According to the complainant, who filed an FIR under Section 376 of the PPC with Nawan Lahore Police, his 15-year-old daughter was alone when the suspect forced his way into their house.

An unidentified accomplice stood guard outside the room while the suspect raped her.

Police are conducting raids to apprehend the accused.

ACTION: Commissioner Silwat Saeed has directed Faisalabad Development Authority officers to conduct a result-oriented crackdown on illegal housing schemes.

She assured all administrative, legal and logistical support from the divisional and district administration.

The directive was issued during a review meeting on FDA’s performance, attended by Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir and FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, who briefed on financial affairs, recovery campaigns, action against illegal housing schemes, development projects and future plans.

The commissioner asked for an action plan listing illegal housing schemes and the support required for operations against them, which will be provided by the DC.

She urged a coordinated strategy involving the FDA, PHA, district administration and other relevant institutions to ensure the law’s implementation, protect citizens’ rights and eradicate illegal housing schemes without external influence.

She also directed the district revenue department to block revenue records of proposed plots in illegal schemes.

Comprehensive marketing efforts were suggested to attract local, national, and international investors for financial stability.
