KARACHI: Cold winds returned to the city on Saturday following a brief break, the Met department said.
It recorded the wind speed at 15km/hour at around 8am.
According to the department’s advisory, weather conditions are likely to turn “cold to very cold” and dry in the metropolis and other parts of the province under the influence of a westerly wave over the next few days.
The minimum temperature in Karachi is likely to drop from 14.5 degrees Celsius recorded on Saturday night to 11°C-13°C over the next two days.
Relative humidity recorded in the morning was 54 per cent.
The maximum temperature recorded was 25.2°C with 22pc relative humidity.
“Very cold weather is expected in Larkana, Tharparkar and Umerkot districts,” it said, adding that moderate to dense fog (in patches) is likely in Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Dadu, Larkana, Khairpur, Tandojam and surrounding areas during night or morning hours.
According the Met office, the lowest minimum temperature in the province was recorded at Mithi where mercury fell to 2°C, followed by Mohenjo Daro 3°C, in Sukkur 7°C, Dadu and Nawabshah 8°C, Thatta 10°C and Hyderabad 11°C.
